Harper Falls is located just a few miles from Lampson Falls.  The publication "St. Lawrence County Waterfalls Guide" gives directions to these falls from the Donnerville Road off CR 24.  It also mentions that there is another entrance at the other end of the Donnerville Road.  First of all, we must note that the signs in the area call this the Downerville Road.

If you come in from the north end, from CR 24, you may be in for a walk.  This is a dirt road and has been improved greatly in recent years and, for the most part, you can travel from end to end year-round.  There still may be times however, when there is water over the road in the swampy areas.  The easier route is from the CR 27 end.  This end is 7.4 miles from the junction of CR 17 and CR 27 in Degrasse, just ½ mile from the Clare town barn.  The trailhead is ½ mile down this road and then you have about a 12 minute walk over a well maintained trail of moderate difficulty.

The Grasse River flows into the St. Lawrence River in Massena, in St. Lawrence County.

Note:  Depending upon which map or sign you are using, this river is referred to as both Grasse and Grass.
