Lake George Quadrangle

Continuing upstream from Falls #1, I reached Falls #2 in about 4 minutes.  It was hidden by a large downed tree but after crossing over the tree I was able to get in position to view and photograph the falls.  Falls #2 has 6' drop.

Now it is time to decide if you are up for the challenging ascent to get to Falls #3 & #4.  If you have had enough you can either turnaround and retrace your steps or continue upstream a short distance and you will come to a trail that crosses the stream.  If you take a right on that trail and follow it for 0.2 mile it will lead you to the Blue Medallion trail. Take a right on the Blue Medallion Trail and in another 0.2 mile you will be back to where you started your off trail adventure and you can continue down the trail back to your car.

Our thanks to Gary Dilmore for the photos and information on this location.

West Brook empties into Lake George.  The water from this then flows through La Chute into Lake Champlain.  The flow then goes north through Canada on the Richelieu River and empties into the St. Lawrence River.
