From NYS Route 9N in the village of Lake Luzerne, north of the
bridge over the Hudson River, turn onto Bay Road heading west. You
will come to Bridge Street on your left which has another bridge
spanning the Hudson River. Parking is available on the
street before you cross the bridge. Primarily a horseshoe shaped
falls, it can be seen from the Hope Bridge, just downstream from
it. This bridge spans the Hudson between the villages
of Lake Luzerne and Hadley. A monument to those who served
in the Persian Gulf War is on the Lake Luzerne side of the bridge. When
we were there, a young man was jumping from the rock wall lining
the river between the falls and the bridge. He then rode the
current through the rapids that went under the bridge. Some
of these pictures are of him!
The Hudson River flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
