Fine Falls

Directions

From NY 3 between Harrisville and Star Lake, the junction with NY 58 marks one end of that route.  About 1/4 mile in, a bridge crosses the Oswegatchie, and this region can be seen upstream.  Alternative views can be had by continuing across the bridge and taking a right on CR 27.

Fine Quadrangle

One of the many unnamed falls and rapids in St. Lawrence County, this section of the Oswegatchie River is in the hamlet of Fine.  This is being included as a waterfall because there are other named waterfalls that are very similar to this section of river.  Since it is a prominent section of river and doesn't have a common name, some would probably qualify it as a rapids rather than a waterfall.  The Oswegatchie River at this point narrows to just a few feet.  The water channels through this narrow and then turns and goes around a number of small islands.

The Oswegatchie River flows into the St. Lawrence River in Ogdensburg, New York.
